As an award winning songwriter with credits under her belt for SONY/ATV, she hit the studio in 2009 with Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer Tommy Faragher (of the hit TV show “Glee) before leaving on a world tour encompassing Asia, Europe and the US. On Tuesday 1st February we had arguably the best Power Down we’ve ever had so thank you so much to all the acts who played – Emel, Elliott Morris, Natalie McCool & Will and the People. Power Down was hosted once again by MPG chairman Steve Levine, who showcased new signing Natalie McCool who has been creating a real internet buzz (vote for her on Bobcom now). Steve filmed Natalie performing ‘Love Makes us all Confused’ at the showcase so here it is for your eyes and ears only!

Powerdown 1st Feb 2011

Posted: January 15, 2011 in Uncategorized

Our first Power Down at the Power House of 2011 will be held on February 1st. We will be treated to some truly special performances from Will And The People, Elliot Morris, Natalie McCool and others to be announced very shortly!

Metropolis Studios is a working studio and as such is not open to the public. Entry to events is by invitation-only. Please contact rsvp@metropolis-group.co.uk for more information and guestlist.

WILL AND THE PEOPLE
Will and the People are more than just a band. They are a way of life. Living, rehearsing, being together, who are on a journey beyond the realms of conventional popular music. Will and the People have percolated into the gaps of the live music scene in the UK with their own unique sound, honest and fresh…

ELLIOTT MORRIS
One of the best young musical talents in the UK, but don’t just take our word for it:
Newton Faulkner: “Wicked, awesome!”
Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music: “Extraordinary… ludicrously youthful and absurdly talented”
BBC Introducing: “his talent is astounding yet effortless”

NATALIE MCCOOL
EXTRAORDINARY; all original; able to calm the most disorderly of minds – you could forgive one as young as singer/guitarist Natalie McCool for buckling under the praise of musical touchstones such as Mark Radcliffe and Chris Martin. Hotly tipped as a ‘rising star’ by the BBC, Natalie McCool is a must see for 2011. Catch her before the rest of the world does.

EMEL MICHAEL
Emel Michael is a young and passionate singer song writer who has been producing and performing her own music since she was sixteen years old. From the tender age of five, Emel has been a natural performer and a true artistic creative. Emel Michael has an innate talent with regard to writing songs. This ability to craft original melodic arrangements set to meaningful lyrics with character is what sets her apart. She is one of a few artists today that can take on a sound with intimate touches of tonality, quirkiness, and clarity of voice.
